Commission Guide

This page contains basic overview of our commission system.

What We Offers

Read in detail: 10.01 What We Offers

We are open to commission request for Japanese, English and Indonesian media. For all intents and purpose, what will be outlined here are commissions for doujinshi/manga product, and commission request for other form of media should be discussed first when you contact us.

Limitations

  • We’re unable to work on media with scat and yaoi content. Do ask those who usually works on those tags (scat has some dedicated translator, but I can’t remember who, and yaoi has a lot, like mysterymeat3 and others) and you might be rewarded well.
  • We would rather not work on media with prevalent or high use of regional Japanese dialects other than Kansai, for now.

Pricing Guidelines

Read in detail: 10.02 Commission Guidelines

Our pricing is based on two main factors: 1) amount of text per page, and 2) amount of redraw needed to edit or “clean” the pages. Both of them have two tier, low amount and high amount, which resulted in three pricing tier per page, low, medium, and high.

We don’t offer translation or editing for cover page right now, so it won’t count on the final rate, along with blank/no-text pages and those that have bits of text that is not important to be translated.

Amount of text per page

Amount of text per page is quite simple and self-explanatory; how much texts are in a single page? This is explained in detail in the aforementioned page, but the gist of it is that it is judged by how many text bubbles (including moans/sfx bubbles, but they don’t amount much) and how long the sentences on those text bubbles are. 10 separate sentences/text bubbles will be counted as low pricing tier, while more will be counted as high. This is rarely a science, since there’s so much variability between sentence lengths and amount of text bubbles from page to page; doing word count system is a hassle, so we opted to use this rough calculation system.

We translate foreword and afterword by default, but if you want to, you could request not to translate those. Foreword and afterword price are mostly eyeballed by how much it takes spaces on the page it is in.

Amount of editing needed

Editing for a scanlation is divided into two things: Cleaning (and redrawing), and Typesetting. Pricing for typesetting, or putting the letters in the page, are basically sidelined here and counted along with cleaning and redrawing, or CLRD, since typesetting are comparably straightforward to CLRD.

For a page to be ready for typeset, it needs to be cleaned, by removing the exisiting texts on the page, and also be redrawn. Since not all texts will be neatly inside of a text bubble, either by overflowing (mainly moans, sfx, and small talks by the character that put inside text bubbles but not centered) or straight outside of one (narration, when it’s not in a text squares, and small talks by the character), and will lay over other object. And since cleaning those texts will leave white/blank spaces, those will need to be filled according to what’s logically goes there, either by drawing manually or other means; hence, redraw.

All pages are defaulted to the lower pricing tier, and if there’s substantial amount of objects that needed to be redrawn, it will be marked as high.

We don’t redraw sfx for pages with sex action, for the sake of work time and also because they are mostly repetitive and (methink) not worth doing; you’ll fill in those with plap plap plap anyway. Sfx in safe/sfw pages will be cleaned, redrawn and redone, but if it will be too much of a hassle it won’t be counted.

Pricing and Duration

Pricing

As mentioned before, pricing are based on how much texts and editing is needed per page, and counted as low and high. Low pricing will be represented by value 1, and high pricing will be value 2. So, there will be three possible rate per page: 1+1, 2+1 (or 1+2, same thing), and 2+2.

We also divided our pricing into Global rate, which uses USD, and Indonesian/local, which uses IDR. This is mainly to cater to our local market, since Indonesian Rupiah purchasing power is a lot lower than US Dollar.

Details for the value would be:

  • Value 1 is $0.75 for global rates and Rp 5.000 for Indonesian rates, and
  • Value 2 is $1 for global rates and Rp 7.500 for Indonesian rates.

Calculating rate for one page would be something like this:

Low text amountHigh Text amount
Low editing amount$1.5 or Rp 10.000$1.75 or Rp 12.500
High editing amount1.75 or Rp 12.500$2 or Rp 15.000

Duration

It generally takes us 1-3 months for us to work on a doujinshi or gallery, and shorter ones are usually done faster. Do note that the longer the doujinshi, the longer it will take us to work on it. We’ll give updates every now and then if you like, but please refrain from asking for updates repeatedly, since it’s inconveniencing everyone including yourself; it pushes us to work rushingly, and you probably won’t be satisfied with what you’ll hear anyway.

Contacts and Payment Methods

How to Contact Us

You can contact us through email and Discord, but if you are referred to us through more personal connections (via word of mouth or something like that) then you can just do whatever you like.

For Discord, you can join our Discord server via this invite link: https://discord.gg/SCCQDAx7h8 - If you prefer not to, which is cool, you can contact us via dm to amasakimei. If you see the about me section and see the link to this site, you got the right man.

Alternatively, if you’re unwilling to or don’t use Discord at all, do contact us via email at p.ronrigata@gmail.com.

I very rarely log in into e-h forum, so please don’t contact me there since there’s a fat chance I won’t be able to respond to you in time. Also, while you can contact us via our social pages like Facebook, I will likely direct you to continue the discussion further via the method above, so might as well use those in the first place. I also rarely check the dms there.

Payment Methods

We’re accepting 50-50 payments (half when the deal is made, and other half after the translation is finished) or upfront. In all honesty, paying upfront would be better, since if there’s any processor cuts, it will only be taken once, but also it would be easier for you as the client as you only need to have one transaction rather than multiple (also saves the hassle of us asking the payment at the end). But if you have other reasons (no need to tell us, it’s on you!), we’re able to make do with 50-50.

For those living outside of Indonesia, payment could be done through Paypal. We’ll send you invoice or money request after the deal is made and we have received your Paypal account details.

For those living in Indonesia, payment could be done by direct transfer to BCA account, which details will be given after the deal is made.

In the future we’ll also try to secure a QRIS payment method as a merchant, so it might also be useful for those who have access to QRIS payment overseas (it should cover ASEAN countries and Japan, but there should be other countries that have been covered as well).
