This time we got a scumbag-ish Sensei, huh? I do agree with Shoa-sensei that this kind of scenario fits Aoba well. Aoba is really built for bullying (affectionate).
Truth be told, I skipped Highlander event’s and forgot to claim Aoba from event story… 😭 I’m sorry. Hopefully rerun is coming soon enough.
Aoba’s verbal tic really is quite hard to convey, at least for us. Forcing that sense of uncertainty and low self-esteem through verbal tics everywhere doesn’t sit right, so on some part of the story it’s mostly came through more subtler means. Hopefully those things gets through when you read the book.
I won’t say the relationship between Sensei and Aoba here as abusive, but the dynamics really does feel kind of like that, doesn’t it? Aoba have that borderline-menhera quality through the mix of her timidness, unconveyed jealousy, and low self-esteem, and Aoba!Sensei here have the personality to manipulate it, rather than getting played with. Sensei being the more dom here really makes the story going - compare Koibito Gokko, for instance.
Also, as a minor note, I tried using new main dialogue font, CC Ask For Mercy, starting from Saoyaku Yamato Takeru and this book, in an attempt to de-ames pro ourself. On a more important note, this translation used the first raw shared, which has white overlay censor, instead of the updated nori, following the result of the poll in our discord server. I don’t think it is a deal-breaker, but if you have things to say about this do give me a message.
